Tape full usage
We are using 1.6TB ultrium tape.When i format it shows 800GB as full capacity.BUt it holds as large as 1400Gb Data.What is the concept behind that?

It depends on the hardware compression. 800GB is the guaranteed capacity, 1600GB is the capacity if you assume a 2:1 files compression. If the files you re backing up are already compressed, you're not going any further than 800GB.
Some files can get also a compression higher than 2:1.
