Procurve 3500yl-24g Cant assign ip address to default vlan or created Vlan

I just aquired a Procurve 3500yl-24g switch and i cant manually assign an ip address to the default or the vlan i created. I get the message "unable to create". Can someone explain this to me?

Hi,

 

how are you trying to configer the ip address?

 

conf t

vlan 1

ip address 192.168.0.1/24

exit

wr mem
