HPE-GreenLake-platform-leader-cloud-management-services-Omdia.pngOmdia, a global research leader covering the technology ecosystem, has recommended HPE GreenLake for most technology selection shortlists, based on its “comprehensive management capability that can be used as a managed or self-managed service.” You can read the report here: Omdia Universe: Hybrid and Multicloud Management Solution, 2022-23. Omdia describes itself as “a proud advocate of the business benefits derived through technology,” and the report notes that “hybrid and multicloud management is at the forefront of realizing benefits to marketers across the globe.”

The study was conducted by analyzing HPE’s approach to hybrid cloud managed services and the “people, process, and platform” approach. In addition, several of HPE’s current managed services customers were interviewed anonymously by Omdia. By using in-depth reviews to derive insights about the customer experience, together with the analyst’s knowledge of the market, the report findings “gravitate toward the customer’s perspective and likely requirements.”

Omdia highlighted HPE’s approach to the customer as offering a unified and consistent customer experience across hybrid cloud and multicloud estates. HPE is classified as a Leader in the Omdia Universe with a total capability score of 60%, the second highest score. The report notes that “HPE GreenLake also reduces the investment organizations need to make in tools, staff, and training, as well as minimizing risk with Al-driven business insights.”

The research considered a wide range of criteria that will be of interest to IT decision-makers. Check out the report for the full list – here are some that caught my eye:

  • Operational management (scale, delivery, provisioning). How well do the solutions function at scale, across various technologies and geographies?
  • Financial management and service modeling. Predicting resource needs by type and delivery method is one of the biggest challenges that CIOs face, the report points out.
  • Security management (DevSecOps). Omdia examined how well the solutions support security and lifecycle management and align with any DevSecOps approach.
  • Environmental sustainability management. The report looked at how well the solutions align with this increasingly important mandate.
