I had one important information I forgot to ask:

Did you check to determine that the NIC drivers were compatible with Windows 2003?

You usually perform a winnt32 /checkupdrageonly

In that case you will have to get the latest drivers from the manufacturer.

If you still cannot logon,try rebooting and go into Safe Mode.
