Synergy Blades Gen11 unable to communicate with OneView
Hello,
Before a few months I've found that there is a issue with DL Gen11 servers and their communication with OneView 8.50 and later - case id 5376574996 . I was notified that HPE found some internal issues, which will be fixed in next releases. Now I'm configuring Gen11 Synergy blades with Composer2/OneView 8.60.01 and the issue reoccur. Fresh new installation, and some of the blades are unable to communicate with OneView, even they get valid IPv4 from the LE and SSO is working. The post is just for information purposes if some of the community members observed the same issue and wants to fix it.
Go to each of the server's iLO -> Management - Mail. You will find some strange characters in some or all the fields -> Recipient Mail Address, Sender and SMTP Server, even they are not in use. Delete all these characters and click Apply. Next go back to OneView and refresh the affected servers.

Re: Synergy Blades Gen11 unable to communicate with OneView
Hello,
There is a known problem that may occur with some iLO 6's where it has invalid information in this section of the alertmail section. When Oneview tries to read the data from this area it cannot since it is non UTF-8 data. This makes it show up as unmanaged in OV.
iLO 6 version 1.53 should address this problem. Obviously, this can also be addressed by manually clearing this out or performing a factory reset of the iLO. Efforts are under way to also improve the messaging in newer versions of OV in order to make it easier to identify what is causing this. This is documented in the following advisory:
