Root logging to Array from SP

Folks,

I dont quite understand what I am doing wrong. I want to do some pre-checks on my lab array by going in as root from the SP.

su -

su - spcomm

cd .ssh

ssh -i <Inservname> root@<InservIP>

It just keeps prompting me for a password. I enter the password and it continues to promt for password....

Not sure where the issue is, I always do

su spcomm

without the dash.

then do "su root" and use root password as per the SP version

then do "su spcomm"

then check for associated 3PAR details by running blow command,

clmaint display all

then run the below command,

ssh -i /home/spcomm/.ssh/<3PAR_name> root@<IP_address>

Where 3PAR_name and IP_address you can get from clmaint display all output
