Release notes for 6.1.1.200-1020304-opt

I'm planning an update of our Nimble devices.

I can't find any release notes for the version I'm upgrding to.

I need a list of fixes, updates to operating instructions, that kind of thing. please advise.

The NimbleOS release notes are available here on Infosight:

Log into your organization at https://infosight.hpe.com/

At the Main Menu, click Resources >> HPE Alletra 6000, Alletra 5000, Nimble Storage >> Documentation >> Release Notes >> HPE Alletra 6000, Alletra 5000, NimbleOS Release Notes Version: Array OS 6.1.1.200 . I note that version 6.1.2.0 shows up in this list, but my arrays do not show it as an available download.

I have the same issue here, HP does not provide release notes for all updates. I got the same link from support when I asked for the released notes but we cant find any documentation on the Nimble OS 6.1.1.200-1020304 update.

@hvgI'm confused - when you log in to Infosight using the link I provided above and navigate to the documentation section as I specified, do you not see the same list of Release Notes as in my image including the hyperlink to "HPE Alletra 6000, Alletra 5000, NimbleOS Release Notes Version: Array OS 6.1.1.200" that the OP requested? The release notes for 6.1.1.200 are defintely present on Infosight in the documentation section - it shows all versions back to 6.0.0.100 in the navigation path I showed. For prior versions you will need to click the NimbleOS (5) link in the left pane., or the link to the approoriate NOS version listed in the left pane under Software Version.

Can you send me the link where I can see the release notes for update 6.1.1.200-1020304, not 6.1.1.200 but the actual fixes for the latest version 6.1.1.200-1020304. The link you provided only shows information on 6.1.1.200 not what they fixed on update "1020304"

@hvg I think you may ne be misinterpreting the extra characters appended to the end of the binary filename. The Release Notes filename and link only includes the major and minor version numbers. i.e. 6.1.1.200 - while the *actual* upgrade binary download filename includes both the major/minor version number AND the build number. The "-1020304" characters appended to the version number is not indicative of a separate patch released subsequent to an initial release of version 6.1.1.222, it is simply the "build number" part of the full binary filename for version NimbleOS 6.1.1.200

6.1.1.200 (the NimbleOS version number) and 6.1.1.200-1020304-opt (the full filename of the bnary download used to upgrade to NimbleOS 6.1.1.200) are in fact referring to the same version.. 6.1.1.200-1020304 is not the 'latest' version of 6.1.1.200, it is the only version of 6.1.1.200.

Similarly for previous version 6.1.1.100, where the full binary filename is 6.1.1.100-1013503-opt. The "-1013503-opt" is not a later "patch" of version 6.1.100, it *IS* version 6.1.100.

It is a bit confusing that they use different naming conventions in this way - it would be much clearer if they just included the build number in both references or omitted it in both references. Sadly, I cannot provide you a direct link because the links in Infosight are customized to include my organization's unique identifier
