iScsiPrt 5 Errors Upon Startup

Hi All,

I've just completed the rollout of a new CS220 and we're really pleased with the unit so far. I'm just doing some final deployment checks and I've noticed that all of our servers (physical or virtual) that connect directly over iSCSI show the following event at startup;

No other errors are recorded and there doesn't seem to be any issue accessing the volumes on the hosts but I'd like to stop these errors from appearing (who doesn't like a clean event log?). We're using automatic networking with NCM installed on our 2008 R2 hosts. All recommended hotfixes have been installed although I recall that some of them came back with a 'not applicable' message during installation.

If anyone has any advise it'd be appreciated.

Can't help on that particular Windows error message but would suggest you give support a call if it is casuing an issue.

I'm glad to hear that you are pleased with the Nimble solution! Most likely everything is just fine and you can ignore this error.

"If you have successfully connected to your iSCSI target device despite this error, it indicates that the connectivity issue was temporary. Therefore, you can safely ignore this Error event"

This is an excerpt from MS KB Error event ID 5 is logged in the System log on a computer that uses the iSCSI Software Initiator to connect to an iSCSI…

Having said that, please do make sure that the other causes for this error are not the culprit.
