Proline SFP Cables / Cisco UCS / Nimble

Is anyone using proline or non-cisco badged SFP cables to connect the Nimble to the UCS?

The part number is: SFP-H10GB-CU3M-CDW

Or Off-Topic, using the same type of cables from Cisco Blades to Fiber Interconnect?

Hi Matt,

While I haven't specifically tried this combo of switches and cables, I would say be careful which cables you use. Cisco are very particular to the type of cables that can be used with their FI's and switches. We have good information on this on the Nimble Connect site as detailed here:

The Cisco cables we know to work are:

1 Meter Cables: SFP-H10GB-CU1M, 37-3690-02 or 37-3690-03

3 Meter Cables: SFP-H10GB-CU3M, 37-3691-02 or 37-3691-03

Hopefully someone has tried your combination of cables and can chip in but until then, if at all possible, I would check with one or two before investing in a whole bunch for your entire environment.
