topic NCM & Update Manager in Array Setup and Networking

Hello,

We have just taken delivery of a CS300 and I have installed the Nimble Connection Manager.

In the guide if you are using ESX 6 and doing the manual install, it says to use the version of NCM specific for 6.0 (vs the version specific for 5.x). However if you are using Update Manager, it says the path to use is http://update.nimblestorage.com/esx5/ncm/index.xml which points to the version for 5.x. Being curious, I noticed if I change the path to http://update.nimblestorage.com/esx6/ncm/index.xml this seems to work and it installs the version for 6, but why does the manual not say this? It actually says "the installation procedure for NCM is the same for ESXi 5.1, 5.1, 5.5 and 6.0"

So which version is correct? Does it matter?

Thanks,

Liam

Hi Liam, looks like you've found a bug in the manuals. It should absolutely point to the ESX6 link for vSphere 6.0.

The main differences between the two versions are the supported signatures that are required to install without exceptions within VMware.

Do you have a bug finding program, I accept Nimble swag in return, that would be neat and it would replace this 'other vendors' cup I use....
