Best practice for HF20 & HF40

We just purchased some HF 20s and HF40s. Are there any best practice guides for integrating with VMware 6.5+ like Volume size, storage pools etc. Also are there any recommended setups for Exchange enviroment, SQL, Citrix etc or do the performance polices take care of it?
