Nimble HF-40 along existing EMC storage

hi all

I have 3 HPE DL380 hosts connected to an old EMC VNX via iSCSI. We recently acquired an HF-40 and I connected it to the 3 hosts via iSCSI also. We plan to do storage migration to move the VMs to the new storage before decommissioning the VNX.

I have the Nimble integration with vCenter working and I can use the plugin to create VMFS/VVols. However I don't have NCM or Nimble PSP installed on the hosts, can those be installed on the hosts even though they are still connected to another brand storage?

Yes.

We just setup our new HF20 and tech support during the setup and knowledge transfer had us install the tools on each host while still connected to our old Tegile box.

Yes we are. We are just starting to migrate VM's to the new Nimble this week.
