Reconfigure Nimble Storage network setting in producction

Hi!

I am new to Nimble storage administration, after studying the manuals and before I start changing the configuration I would like to confirm if by editing the current network configuration, saving it as draft and then editing it, I can make all the changes I have in mind.

The changes involve reassigning ports, IPs, VLANs, services.... All this in draft mode and without affecting production until the day the configuration is put into service.

Hello,

That is correct. By making changes in the draft network configuration, there will not be any impact.

Thank you for the clarification and quick response.
I think it's a great feature to be able to do this kind of thing.

With this in mind, finally to finish understanding the operation. For a standard iSCSI configuration based on 2 different IP addresses for a set of ESXi hosts. This type of configuration in Nimble is valid, it is something that has not been very clear to me in the manuals.

Yes for two subnets in iSCSI this looks good. However, I would recommend taking a look at our best practices guid/ deployment considerations from infosight https://infosight.hpe.com/InfoSight/media/cms/active/public/HPE_Nimble_Storage_Deployment_Considerations_for_Networking.pdf.

There are couple of topology considerations starting page No#13 and decide which is best for your setup.
