Glyn had a customer that was having performance problems with Oracle RAC on Linux:

I have a customer who says they are having some performance issues with Linux I/O rates. They have BL490 with 4 flex 10 ports and 4 modules. The specific question is around drivers and kernel configuration for a linux host running Oracle RAC.

Can anyone point me at any information.

Not much info on performance issues experienced, version of Linux or RAC .... have a look at the following links, They may provide some insight to Oracle RAC & Linux kernel tuning parameters.

Check the HP-Oracle Cooperative Technology Center pages. At least, there has been lot’s of info for RAC/Linux installation.

Many other possibilities for IO performance issues. Have they checked Linux IO configuration/parameters, SAN and Storage configuration and performance capacity.

Also Linux driver versions etc… Do they have long IO wait/service times and/or long queues?
