Hi SNMC

Dod you implement this solution?

I got no feedback at all on this. However I am implementing it at the minute and have ran into issue with snapshots.

It would seem that a snapshot, either local or remote, of a virtual volume is actually a clone in that it requires the same capacity as the source. This is in complete contidiction to the documentation which clearly states that the snapshot does not use any space until the source is changed.

HP are investigating this issue as we speak.

DJ

Hi,

We are installing two new MSA 2040 arrays and plan to use the remote snap software to replicate to our DR site.

Can anyone tell me if they are using this feature on the MSA 2040 and if so what issues they have seen to date or are aware of.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

DJ

Hi DJ,

Did you find any further information on MSA replication?

I have the same question. We are debating if we should use the remote snap function of tyhe MSA or Veeam for our replication solution.

Any advice?

Thanks,

S
