The MSA30 is really old now, a single modern disk has more capacity than this array.

All 3 different I/O modules are parallel SCSI, so you won't find such SCSI controller for any modern server that runs 2012.

It is time for new hardware ...

My server is a Windows 2012 R2 standard with RAID 5 Adaptec 3405 with four SATA hdd 1 Tb. Two CPU XEON 3.3 Ghz (32 cores) with 64 Gb Ram. Mainboard ASUS...don't remember the model but I think it begains with Z9.

My second server is a Dell Poweredge 1950 with 16 Gb RAM with two CPU Xeon 3.3 Ghz quad core with PERC 6i with 5 HDD 500 Gb in RAID 5. This one is on linux.

Do you need something else to help me find the good storage for my SCSI hdd?

Thank you.

The SCSI controller...you do need a driver or it's not necessary?

HP told me by email that the controller only support Windows 2000/2003. There's no support for Windows 2012. I'm a little lost...

you need a driver for the scsi controller inside your server, your adaptec hba. scsi is too old and slow now. you probably need something sas or sata based. sounds like for home use? what does the msa30 have? 146gb disks? you can get this capacity from a single new disk now.

I wanted to use my old SCSI hdd but if it's too complicated because there's no support for Windows 2012 or Linux than I'll dispose of them.

What would you suggest that use 1 to 14 hard disks SAS or SATA with RAID 5? Dell Powervault, HP storageworks...

I want something not too expensive because it's for my home office.

Thanks.
