I have bougth a MSA1500 with 4 MSA20 shelves and 48 250 GB serialATA drives. The performance is very poor, writting to a Raid 5 with 12 disks I can get only 20 MB/seg and the ligths on the MSA1000 controller shows it is using all the CPU. If I connect the same MSA20 with the same disks to a 6400 controller and make the same array I can reach 70-90 MB/seg. If I attach a MSA30 with 14 SCSI disks to the MSA1500 I get more performance (about 60MB/seg. I am using the last firmware (4.82 for the MSA1500 and 1.24 for the MSA20). Is there any problem with my configuration?

Hi,

See the hp supportwebsite in a few days. There should be soon a new firmware mentioned for the MSA1500 4.94 where this should be fixed in.

Best Regards Jeroen
Probably battery problem...

check your battery values at your MSA20 shelves.

Boot shelve in combination with a serial cable attached to it, value needs to be above 6000mv.
