Hi,

I am trying to connect two Windows 2003 Enterprise servers to my HP EVA 5000 SAN. The drivers seem to load automatic in Windows 2003. However how do I find my WWN numbers for these cards in Windows 2003? On my other server I have FCA 2201 cards which work with Lputilnt.exe utility which helps locate WWN numbers & upgrade firmware & so on.
Please help

Regards,
I believe you can only check it from the QLogic BIOS when the machine boots up?

The other way would be to telnet onto the switch (i'm assuming brocade switches here) and run the switchshow to show all the ports on the switch.

Regards

Dan

Hi,

Is there any utility which could display the wwn number in Windows? Also, any procedure to upgrade Qlogic HBA firmware?
Normally BIOS option is disbled for these adapters. It could be ridiculous to boot the server to find wwn number.

Regards,
Sandeep
Hi Sandeep,

just download the utility for the Qlogic adapters from here :

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=315741&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=315739&swEnvOID=1005

It's called sansurfer and is like lputil for Emulex cards but then for these Qlogic cards and allows WWN retrieval and firmware upgrade and config etc etc.

HTH

Kris
That information is not true since a long time - today, the FCA2214 is supported by Linux, NetWare and Windows.
