MSA P2000 Vdisks in quarantine after failed controller replacement

Hello.

we tried to replace a faulty controller A and it tried to update the firmware

and it brought it to unitialize, restarted with both controller it said that it update the firmware successfully

but in the events after the restart it gave a msg. it failed still in unitialize state (couldnt see the Vdisks as well).
we shutdown the MSA P2000 and just booted it up with controller B.

the 2 Vdisks are in QTOF state and from the show vdisks command i get this error :

Look for events in the event log related to quarantine (172 or 485) and follow the recommended actions for those events.

under health Fault

reason health quarantined.

does anybody have the process how to de-quarantine the vdisks and bring them back online ?

Hi @Luke_Y ,

You can dequarantine vdisk from SMU GUI/CLI as below:

From SMU, in the Configuration View panel, right-click a quarantined vdisk and select Tools > Dequarantine Vdisk,
or

SSH controller IP/take serial console and run following command on CLI prompt:

# dequarantine vdisk "Vdisk name" >>>>Enter vdisk name without quotes

will the de-quarantine from the SMU will bring them back online

from the current state that i mentioned ?

yes, if all the original drives are present and healthy.

Hi,

Incase vdisk went into offline state after dequrantine then

you can try the below commands,

#trust enable

#trust vdisk vd01

# show vdisks

Note: We would strongly recommend you to get the log verified with any MSA expert before running trust command,

if one or more drives are having issue then it may not work.
