Hi
I have an hpe msa 2050 with 6 ssd and 8 sas 15K , create a pool with sas 15k and its operational , and buy a performance tier license ( Advanced Data Services ) and install on for use 2 ssds as a performance tire and create another pool with 4 ssd, but the feature is disabled in msa license after install it
I install license for performance tiering 2052 without error but this feature is disabled
Please help me how to enable performance tier for use SSD on my msa

Hi,

I understand that you were able to install the performance tier license without errors. However, the performance tier feature is still disabled.

The performance tier feature gets automatically enabled once license is installed.

Please execute the below command and check whether Performance Tier and Replication reports status as disabled.

show license

Sample output from an array in which license is installed and performance tier feature enabled.

# show license

Maximum Licensable Snapshots: 1024
Base Maximum Snapshots: 64

Please confirm whether you had used the licensing serial number that shows under show license output to register the license in HPE software portal.

Can you show the license output from your system?
Which method did you use to upload the license? FTP or SMU (WebUI)
The license is tied to the system license serial number, this is different than the array system serial number. Is it possible that the incorrect serial number was used to generate the license key?

I use gui for install the license and upload the text file on storafe
In show license command all the features is install and enabled and expiration is never but performance tier is disable
I use license serial number on gui for activate the license on hpe site
Please advice me

Outpoot of show license same the example with one diffrent , the performance tier in my storage is disable
Before i install the license , storage does not have any feature
I use license serial number on gui for activate the license on hpe site

Replication: Enabled where as Performance Tier is disabled.

Just to reconfirm - Are you getting the show license command output exacty as listed below?

You may upload a screen shot after hiding the first two lines - licensing serial number and license details

Can you post the contents of your license file? Please erase or otherwise garble the Signature (although this is encrypted it is the only customer specific part)
Should look like this-ish:

Ok it looks like no additional features are being enabled with the ADS license you have. Your system shows 64 Snapshots (default), Replication Disabled (Default) and Performance Tier Disabled (Default). It would appear that the license you have is not correct for the system.

The next step is to contact licensing support
Goto: https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/dashboard
Then select help and support and Contact Us and select your region.

The easiest installation method is from the WebUI (SMU). The 'CLI' method is via FTP/SFTP. The FTP welcome screen will report out the instruction for installation.
It is possible that if you have opened and saved the TXT file that it was re-encoded and could cause a problem.
Make sure to go back to the original file that was provided by the licensing team for license installation.
