HP MSA Question

Hey there:

I am inheriting a network (with little to no documentation, aside from passwords) that has an HP P2000 G3 MSA Storage array. On the back of the unit, it is connected via the fiber channel to two other HP servers. I need to add more storage, however, I cannot find where to manage it. I looked to see if there were any local tools with no luck. Searches online show it is supposed to be web-managed, but I can't seem to find it anywhere on the network. Anyone have experience with these units that can share some knowledge with me?

Hello there, if the MSA is not connected/reachable through the network, you may try to connect through the serial USB port.

In order to accomplish that, you need to get the cable with part number: 592266-001.

then, you need to download and install the driver for that cable on your Windows computer: https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?softwareId=MTX_b5a86168606e4446b10ed72b52&language=en_US

Then you just connect to the MSA's USB port on the back. You also need to have putty or any other SSH terminal emulator in order to connect to the MSA. Once you have the CLI login screen, you may try with the default credentials:

Username: manage

password: !manage

if you are able to login, type in the command: show controllers to see the controller's configuration as well as the IP addresses assigned to each controller. The default IP addresses are 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.3
