Hi,

How do I go about expanding storage in MSA 2060 iSCSI? Do I just add a drive and expand the volume? I wasn't able to find anything relating to this in the documentation.

Thank you

@JakubSACS
There are 2 different aspects to expanding storage.
First is expanding a volume. This can be done at any time, as long as the Pool OverCommit is enabled, this will present a larger LUN to a host. You would then need to configure the host OS to see the additional capacity. (you should really read up on your specific OS about expanding a physical disk before proceeding).
In the CLI>  expand volume size 100GB  Volume_01    { this adds 100GB to Volume_01 }
In the SMU> Provisioning, Click the volume slide-over (>) under the overview tab the "Expand Volume" button will be available if there is capacity or overcommit is enabled
These are documented in: HPE MSA 2060 Storage Management Guide https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00128580en_us&docLocale=en_US Under Modifying Volumes pg 67 (very minor statement)
HPE MSA 2060 CLI Reference Guide https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00105313en_us

Expanding the volume only presents more capacity to the host, it does not add physical capacity to the system. With the ability to OverCommit/Over-Provision/Thin-provisioning you should monitor your system and look for Events and Alerts if you have allocated more capacity to volumes that actual physical capacity.

You can also expand the actual capacity of the Pool by either expanding an MSA-DP+ (Raid Level) disk group or adding a new disk-group to the Pool. Only the MSA-DP+ raid level disk-groups allow incremental expansion (adding 1 drive) All other RAID levels (5, 6, 10) will not allow expanding the disk-group but an additional disk-group can be added either in the same tier or a different tier.
See the MSA 2060 Best Practices Guide: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00105260enw see capacity expansion
See The MSA Gen6 Virtual Storage Technical Reference Guide: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00103247enw for more information on MSA-DP+ and an overall virtual storage review on disk-groups, wide-striping and thin-provisioning.
