Thanks for the help. The switch inside is the SAN switch2/8. 2gig switch with 8 ports, manufactured by procade. It is the original switch which was shipped with the msa1000 packaged cluster. Will try to unplug and reseat the switch.

Hi,

I am getting a repaeted error on the MSA1000 controller (single), it says "515 fibre device hardware failure". What then happens is that is drops the connection to the various fca's on the servers and then it brings them up again. We replaced the controller allready but the problem persists. Do you suggest we replace the brocade2/8 internal switch?

Hi Richard,

It seems that fibre device which it installed in MSA1000 was not recognized by the array controller. So you need to do the following :
1.Verify that fibre device is supported.
2.If it is supported, then please remove the fibre device, wait for one minute, then re-insert it insuring it is fully seated in the chassis.Wait for one minute and check the LCD to see if a new copy of this error message is created.
Hope this could help.

Best regards,

Emad Omar
