SANSurfer is an 'umbrella' name for Qlogic's SAN management software, which works with their Fibre Channel Adapters and Switches.

The adapter manager component is similar to Emulex's HBAnywhere, but I doubt that you can use HBAnywhere to manage Qlogic's adapters.

FCA2214 HBA Utility?

Greetings.

We have a EVA 5000. To date, my HBA experiences have just been with Emulex. The Emulex HBAs installation process has required the installation of the HBAnywhere utility, which is really nice utility for upgrading firmware and locating the WWN on the HBAs.

Recently, we've purchased a new server with FCA2214 HBAs, which are QLogic. I've been to the download page for this product and downloaded and installed the latest drivers. They have a utility called SANSurfer Manager, but fail to give a description of what it does. Is SANSurfer Manager simular to the HBAnywhere? Can I use HBAnywhere with QLogice HBAs?

Thanks
