Hi,
We have a MSA 1500CS Array with a SGA0516051 controller.
We are expanding the logical drive by adding an additional hard dive to the array.
The problem is the significant time it is taking because of the low priority setting to expand array.

Can the Expand array setting be changed on the fly while an array is already expanding?

If so we would be able to manage the slower times of the server.

Thanks in advance.
Dan,

yes this setting can be changed on the fly in the ACU , Advanced Settings for the Controller but it will slow down the response of the array to your host requests if you do this during production hours, it all depends how busy this array is.

HTH

Kris

Kris,
Thanks for the reply.
My thought was to use the medium setting during non production hours and then place it back to low during work hours.

The server is pretty busy and contains over 500 GB of data.

Any other gotchas or is it straight forward ?
TIA
