I was wondering if someone could clarify a best practice solution that we are having?
Hp has given me conflicting opinions on how many disk groups we should have. I was taught at HP school to have one, but recently an HP engineer said we should have two especially if we are running a database incase the meta data get corrupted.

Currently we have one disk group and have two vdisk per sql server (1 for logs 1 for database)

Well, as always, it depends!!

Performance wise one disk group is best
Availability wise more than one disk group can be beneficial
