Hello:

Enviroment: Server HP Proliant Bl20p G3 and Windows 2003 Server R2 in Cluster. Connected to SAN HP EVA8000

I have this error on the event viewer

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Scsi\ql23002.

The drivers update in May /2008. and Suppport Pack 8.0

Someone knows the solution

We need the full details of the event to do a little troubleshooting. If you open the "Event Properties" window, there is a button below the "arrow down" button, which shows two pieces of paper.

Press this button and the contents will be put into the clipboard. Open a text file (.txt), paste the contents in and please attach the file as a response.

OK; found some time do go into the details - sorry for the delay. Here is a translation of the bits:

Event Code: 00030000 = Firmware IOCB completion status

(IOCB = I/O control block - a data structure for I/O processing.)

Data: 00 12 00 83

12 = CDB opcode (INQUIRY)
83 = target loop ID

Actions To take:
Please send the event data to QLogic support for analysis by the firmware group.

I assume that the adapter is a HP-branded one, so I would log a call and give them the event data. Please let us know of the results.
