    <title>topic Drive orientation in MSA Storage</title>
    <link>https://community.hpe.com/t5/msa-storage/drive-orientation/m-p/1090049#M4896</link>
    <description>Has anyone performed a study on mtbf depending on drive orientation? I reckon a drive is happier in the vertical position. More obvious with a tape as they sag at the extremities in long-term storage.&lt;BR /&gt;
Just wondered because our old MSA drives were mounted vertically &amp;amp; our new EVA440 drives are mounted horizontally. This is probably less important with a 2.5" drive - are we likely to see these in a SAN anytime soon?</description>
