We have an EVA 6000 with dual HSV200 controllers. Currently the memory configuration is the following:

Control cache: 1024 MB

Read cache: 512 MB

Write cache: 256 MB

Mirror cache: 256 MB

Total cache: 2048

Are these settings static or can they be changed? We are dealing with a vendor who is claiming that "50%-75% of the SAN cache needs to be dedicated to write cache for all disk configurations". Is this even a possibility?

Thank you for your time and assistance!

The EVA does not offer that kind of 'micro-management' and the vendor claims that the array has very competent cache software, so it does not need large write caches.
