    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi all!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I will receive these items:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;HP DL160G6 E5506 1P 4GB Entry EU Svr&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;HP 8/8 (8)-ports Enabled SAN Switch AM867A&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;HP StorageWorks MSL2024 1 LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 (BL542A)&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;2 LC/LC optic wires&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Im almost sure that i can connect the server and the library directly without the switch.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;two questions:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;¿Can i use the LC/LC wire or need a "cross" wire?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;¿Can i use the san switch as a tcp/ip network switch to connect our lan to the next building lan?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thx in advance!!!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) Yes you can connect server and library directly. If your DL160G6 has a FC HBA installed. There are no 'cross-wires' when it comes to fibre optics. You may need SFPs but probably not when direct connecting these two devices.&lt;BR /&gt;2) No, the 8/8 is a Brocade SAN switch that only does Fibre Channel.</description>
