We took our MSA20 offline about a month ago (had to unplug the power from it).

Now when I'm trying to get it back online its not showing any logical drives.

If the cache was gone and the battery power ran outer, can't the RAID still be rebuilt from the metadata on the drvies?

It should be able to, but why would it need to rebuild? Has a disk broken?

Can you manage it through ACU / ADU? Maybe those could tell some more?

Hi There,

RIS information is stored on the hard drives so need to make sure MSA is initialized first.

Power cycle the server and MSA 20.

Power on the MSA first and wail till it initializes the drives.

Power On the server and check the status of the logical drive during POST. (right after the SA controller initialization)

Observe for any POST messages and let us know.

As suggested in the previous POST use ACU to check the status of the logical drive.
