MSA2012i Upgrade Controllers from G2 to G3

Hi,

I'm planning to Upgrade dual controllers on a MSA2012i from G2 to G3. I believe when this is done I will need to re-enter all the config information.

I was wondering could I not save the config file and reapply this once the upgrade has taken place? Also if this is successful would I need to apply any changed once the controllers have been upgraded and config file has been applied.

The save/restore feature was only on G1.

I guess you can do a data in place upgrade, but I would take a backup and note down all config before.

I did a G1 to G3 upgrade in 2012...I had to re-enter everything. Be sure to have all your VMs and data OFF the disks before upgrading as this is a good opportunity to rebuild the array, properly set up your LUNs, format the disks/datastores, etc. etc.
