Just out of curiosity, is there a way to find out when the loop reset occurs, or a way to force a loop check? One of the disks has been lik this now for over a month.

The Fiber Channel disk drives are connected to the controller via 2 paths or channels. When one path fails or controller is unable to establish connection you will see the "One loop connection lost" message.

It is not a cause of concern unless too many disks showing up in this state very frequently. EVA will recover from this during next loop reset automatically. If the EVA is running on less than XCS 09534000 firmware, it is recommened to upgrade to the current XCS revision as it has many enhancements related to loop errors.

You can try the following Workaround:

1. Un-plug the Disk and re-insert back in 5-10 seconds of time. If this does not help, try step 2.
2. Ungroup the disk, once ungroup is finished remove the disk and replace it again after 1 min. If the disk is detected on both ports then you can add it to DG again.(will take longer time)

Regards

Zsal

If this post is helpful, thank me with Kudos. Click "White thumbs up" ↓
