Did you create an appropriate zoning?
You can check if the fibre connection is OK if you can see the wwid of the fc cards at the switch level.

i have an ibm server running aix 5.2 with 2 fc cards connected to SAN (hsg80 in multibus failover)acs 8.7.3
i have added a raid storage unit to the SAN, builted my raid, and presented this unit to my ibm server. up to now every thing is ok.
typed at the server console : cfgmgr -v, the system does not discover anything.
when i entered the command : lsdev -Cc disk
the system is only displaying the old physical units (hdisk0,hdisk1,....hdisk6).
i don't know if i am missing something or what is the next step to be able to display the new raid i added ? i even restarted the server, still same thing. I am new to san with aix.
Please Help.
Thank you.

restarted the hsg80 and i now i could see the disk as hdisk6, created a new volume group, created the logical volume and affected it to the volume group. Everything seems to work fine.
Thanx again.
