Hello-
My boss has asked me if there are any specific ways to clean the proliant ml370 drive. We have the HS-4/CL tape, but could someone tell me how long to leave it in there?

I am clueless about these things..
Thanks in advance!

Hello

Using a cleanning tape will extend the life of the Backup unit, it removes and traps accumulated debris from Magnetic tapes.

I suggest you clean tape drives after one of the following scenarios:

- using a new tape
- 25 hours of operation

The cleanning tape is usually good for maximum 40 cleannings; you may want to make a checkmark on the tape after every usage to remember when it is time to buy a new one.

Cheers!
Fernando.
