Storage Mirroring on Vmware

I need your assistance

In the past I have worked with HP Storage Mirroring installation on physical machines. However, this is my first time when I have to install it on a target virtual machine running ESX 4

I would like to know how to do the installation, do I have to install software on all guest OS? or is it supposed to be installed on ESX?

how about required license, which is the correct license required? and where do I install the license on the guest or ESX?

the Source servers are all physical servers

Hi Mahmood,

Physical to Virtual and Virtual 2 Virtual replication is possible with Storage Mirroring software. Software needs to be installed on Guest operating system.

One Storage Mirroring for Virtual Machines license can be used on up to five virtual servers.

You may refer Storage Mirroring user guide for details information.

Just confised on which License will be required?
is it Storage Mirroring for Virtual Infrastructure? ( Our Sales people ordered this license) or Storage Mirroring Recover Virtual Host license?
And, do I need a Virtual Center Server if using ESXi ( rather than ESX) ?

I have seen the docs attached.

The Guide for Storage Mirroring for Virtual Infrastructure says its for replicating data "between ESX Servers"...so its not exactly the scenario I have.
I believe, Storage mirroring Recover Virtual Host is the right license??

Seems right, we are also using recover license for our servers but those all are physical.

But feature will be same of recover in terms with virtual also.
