HP recently released a Service Release (SR1) which contains the Microsoft hot fix you are looking for. Actually it contains hot fix 835152 which supercedes 828214. Go to http://software.hp.com, select "Storage and NAS" under Product Category, select hp storageworks NAS WSS OS version Service Release 1. Complete the form and HP will send you SR1 on CD (its free).

I have recently set up a NAS2000s server on which the disks are exported via the NFS server to some HP-UX 11.23 RX2600 servers.

I can mount and access the disks on the RX2600 servers but every now and again the RX2600 NFS client complain that the NFS server on the NAS box is not responding. Once the 2600 has lost the NFS server it won't find it again until I stop and restart the NFS server on the NAS2000. The RX2600 also mounts some disks from another HP-UX 11.11 server and these mounts are never lost.

Sorry I can't offer a solution, but at least I can offer moral support. I have extactly the same issue between my NAS2000s & my Sun Sparc servers.

Out of interest, what 3rd-party software (if any) do you have on your NAS? I've got NSI DoubleTake 4.3 & Sophos Antivirus 3.79

Since submitting this I have found that this is a known problem with the NFS server. Microsoft have a patch for this but you have to contact them to get hold of it.

See the following for details.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828214
