To those who are responsible for DPE, have you ever noticed the "Alert - Wrong Media", tells me the backup job and the tape device, but not the Media required. As i'm running tapes with a rotating library, i usually assume it's the next tape, but sometimes this is not the case. The programmer thinks you are a mind reader and know what tape the program needs.

If the tape cartridge that you load has a format then it also has a path where it resides on DPE for example Home > Admin > Backjob > Tape1. That being said the backup will also look for tapes on specific paths Home > Admin > Backup Job 2 > Rotation Media > Weekly rotation media > Week 1. Since the media loaded is not located on the path where your backup looks for medias then it fails with error 1400 or 1401. If you erase the tape prior to running the backup then the tape will be formated and placed on your backup rotation folder.
