HP RDX Protection "Failed to initialize the media"

Hello,

anybody who can help me with this issue, when i insert a disk i get the message new hp rdx cartridge detected. When i enter a name and pres ok, i get "Failed to initialize the media, for all the disks i have.

any support would be very appriciated

This may not be a reliable solution. Time will tell...

I had a new 1TB RDX cartridge that failed to initialize (when it was inserted and I had responded 'yes' I want the drive to be used by RDX).

So next time I was asked if it was to be used for RDX I responded No. In Windows Explorer I then deleted all files off the RDX drive (start.exe and autorun.ini).

I then copied a random file to the drive and then removed that file. Just to force it to write some data.

I then ejected the empty drive and reinserted it.

This time when I responded 'yes', when asked if I want to use the drive for RDX, the drive intitialized and RDX started to copy files to it as normal.
