You're correct - the library will not support mixed drive types.

Also, HP never supported a DLT7000 drive in the HP-branded product.

Hi,

I have one of the librarys passed down to me but with no support or working DLT drive. I have changed the DLT drive for a working version but the Library knows it has changed. I need the service password to tell it eveything is OK... it can carry on working... and I can get my backup going again. Does anybody know this password, where I can get it, or how I can reset it??

Terry

You should be using the administrator password. It gives you access to 99% of what the service password provides.

The device seems to think that it still has the old device fitted, an 8000, but the "new" device is a 7000. It doesn't seem to mind the fact that it has a 7000 but it says it cant cope with a 7000 AND an 8000.
