Thanks for your response. HP L&TT Tech support pointed me to an article on Veritas' Web site that hsd me edit the pvl.mdb file in the Backup Exec folder. That fixed the problem.

Yesterday I flashed my Surestore Autoloader 1/9 with new firmware v2600 for the Library and V50 for the drive but now Backup Exec generates an unknown device error and does not list the drive. No changes were made to the SCSI adapter. The Adaptec drivers remain the same and Windows NT reports them as started and available.
I've restarted the Server several times and note that both units are recognized by the O/S.
Does anyone have any idea why Backup Exec recognizes the Library but not the drive?
Thanks for any help.

Reinstall an updated driver for the drive. The NT service pack should be updated to SP6 if not already done.
Have a nice day.
Sam
