1) Memory specs:

60ns ECC FPM SIMMs, added 2 at a time.

2) Are you talking IDE or SCSI? IDE is not supported on the E50, but you could try a SCSI HDD, but it will not be supported by HP.

A client of ours has an Netserver E50 with a 300mhz processor, 64MB of ram with a 4GB hard drive. According to the Specification they can max to 384MB of Ram and 4x9.1GB drives. My questions are 1) What memory chips do they need 2) is it possible just to add a 30GB drive in one of the spare slots? They run Redhat 6.2 as the operating system.

Thank you.
Thanks. Isn't IDE the default shipping hard drive for this server? They are happy to have SCSI if it means more diskspace.
Nope, only the E40 and E45 support IDE HDD.

Not sure how much this will help, but I have an E50 that came with (2) 4 GB SCSI drives. I'm running W2K Server, and added a 60GB IDE drive. The system and OS only see it as 30GB, and after upgrading the BIOS with no effect - I decided to leave 'well enough' alone.
