topic Smart Array disk move in ProLiant Servers - Netservers

I have a proliant ML350 G4 with two disks configured in raid 1 with an smart array that is broken. Can I put this disks in a proliant DL380 with an smart array? The problem is that i will put the disks in another positions (on the original server are on 0 and 1 position, and i will put this in the new server on positions 2 and 3), just to start with the operating system of the dl380 and to make a emergency recoger of the data of the other server.

Possibly yes.

If smartarray is same generation like 5i, it will detect array config on drive.

Be sure to load/use this drive array config in controller when it ask and you will be able to read data.

Good luck.
