HP Micro G7 N54L can use memory HP 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600R or not??

Hi! HP

I have HP Micro G7 N54L but I bought HP 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600R P/N:500202-061 2 items.

I replace old memory 10600E with 2*10600R (Dual).

When I power on server cannot boot. It seem server cannot vision memory and When I use single memory it was same problem if use 10600E single server can start normaly.

Can I use memory 10600R for my server ?

Instead of trying to be fancy and use hyperlink button, sometimes it is just better to paste it on a new line: :-)

Hello @Narinthorn,

Your server supports only Unbuffered ECC memory (PC3-****E) and it does not support Registered ECC sometimes referred as RDIMM (PC3-****R). Hence, PC3-10600R will not work.

Your server supports a max memory of 8GB. It has 2 sockets and max per socket is 4GB.

Following are the list for compatible memory:

HP 4GB (1x4GB) Dual Rank x8 PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) Unbuffered CAS-9 Memory Kit 593923-B21 HP 2GB (1x2GB) Dual Rank x8 PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) Unbuffered CAS-9 Memory Kit 593921-B21 HP 1GB (1x1GB) Single Rank x8 PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) Unbuffered CAS-9 Memory Kit

You can find this memory on some ontine memory retailers like memorystock.com and crucial.com.

With the introduction of higher-capacity ECC DIMMs, many folks have been able to expand their N54L microservers to 16GB RAM total. I've successfully used Kingston KVR1333D3E9SK2/16G DDR3-1333 16GB(2x 8GB) 1Gx72 ECC CL9 Server Memory Kit.
