I have 4 SSD drives connected to HP Gen10 microserver. After a power out the array controller stopped working. Is there a way to replace the controller or extract the data from the HDs?

Hello,

If the hard drives use the embedded controller, and if there is another such server, you may try by installing the hard drives on that server in the same respective slots and see if the RAID is recognized and re-built by the controller and allows access to the data.

The above is not a guaranteed success procedure. If there is data backup, it will definetly help in case the procedure is not successful.

Regards,

I actually managed to get it to work, not sure how.

This is what I did:

1. The controller was set to AHCI

2. I followed the method described here to change it to Smart Array SW RAID Support:

https://techlibrary.hpe.com/docs/iss/shared/troubleshoot_gen10/GUID-24FE96A7-9289-408C-AF95-288FE0F0EE2A.html

3. Rebooted the server, but that did not work

4. I changed the controller setting back to AHCI

5. Rebooted and it worked!
