Hp Netserver LH3000 disk failure

One of my disks on my LH3000 is flashing red so I take it, its died??? Unfortunately I was not here when it was built and do not know if the disks are hot swappable. Is it standard that they will be hot swappable in this machine? Also if they are does that mean I can just take the bad disk out while it is running and put the new one in and it will rebuild the raid or will I have to run something to rebuild it?

Try running NetRAID assistant, which can be found on the Navigator CD. I don't know what OS you're running, but there's definitely a version for Windows, and possibly other OSes.

In the Assistant program, check to see if you have RAID-5 or RAID-1. (If you already know, you can skip this step). If so, just hot swap a blank drive in place of the one with the red flashing LED. Rebuild will be automatic.

If you're under warranty, HP should pay for your replacement drive.
