The server in question is to be re-assigned use.
So I considered it a good idea to upgrade all the BIOS first.

BIOS updated to 4.06.36PS
hot swap backplane to B.01.26
NetRaid to 03.03 ( I think )

can enable to NetRaid controller in the BIOS but during the boot process it is not identified. Have tried diags etc not no go.

please help

In the Bios page, the first window allow you to enable the "integrate netraid controller"
but you have also to specify the channels that are to be used, usualy channel A for raid controller only, and channel B as a standard scsi for tape devices.
Also there is another setting related to the boot priority in "configuration > Hard Drive priority", select integrated netraid

I think you may have a conflict on your Mother board.
I will suggest to clear cmos infos, entering with F11 at boot time when system ask for F2, or clearing whith the jumper on the mother board.
Then at next boot you will have a error message related to cmos checksum, just enter again in the bios and exit "Saving" changes", this will recalculate the checksum.
If this do not clear your problem, try to flash the firmware again and clear CMOS another time.

Hope this will help

marino
