topic Re: Additional HardDisk? in HPE ProLiant Servers - Netservers

You should try a Navigator CD version G.01.65, which contains LXr Pro files;
I think this is the last release for the "Pro" servers;
then you choose EISA configuration utility and change the boor order;
the default Boot Device Priority is:
CD-ROM, FDD, IDE device, EISA Slot 1,2,3,4 PCI Slot 1,2,3,4, then SCSI A, B and PCI 5, 6.

good luck!

Hi there,

my Netserver LXr PRO is running with two RackStorage 8 (SCSI).
I add a IDE Harddisk into the server, but now the server try to boot from the IDE device, but it should boot from the SCSI devices.

Is it possible to disable the boot from the IDE devices?
What changes i have to do?

thx.

What Operating system are you using?

Some OS' allow you to re-map the primary boot device using special strings.

With some more details, someone should be able to help you further.

Have you tried booting with the NetServer Navigator, and changing boot order from there?

This will not work. You can try and configure the ECU by getting the latest from here:

http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50463.html

Inorder to skip IDE for boot, there needs to be a jumper on the system board to configure it. This is not available.
