I have a DL580 I'm trying to need to put NT Workstation on it becausae of certain applications that need NT. The NT setup disk can not find the hard drive. I tried to format the hard drive in both NTSF and Fat, and I get the same error message. Where do I go from here??

I just ran smart start, then tried to load NT workstation from the 3 disks. Pressed S to add my own storage drivers. (Smart Array 42xx / 43xx Controller) it was the only one that worked and I tried them all.

After putting the 3rd disk in the system could not find the CD Rom. When I boot from the CD rom, it still can't find the hard drive.

I am totally lost, does this make sense to anyone.

Mkae sure you have the drivers for your disk controller on diskette. Boot NT Workstation from the CD, AS SOON AS YOU SEE THE BLUE SCREEN - HIT F6, it should prompt you for additional drivers, load the drivers for your controller, and then continue as normal.
