Serial Console Server - Alpha DEC423 console port

In the past I have used DECserver900TM terminal servers for remote connections using Telnet listener ports. I had DEC423 - RJ45 cables made up & patched through to the TS ports. All works well for remote connections.

In my wisdom I recently purchased a 16 port SCS for a remote WebVPN connection to allow remote serial access to some Alpha's. Using the same cables and patching detailed above I cannot get a response on the SCS telnet listener port connection. I think this may be due to cable pin outs on the SCS. Has anybody got this working or could someone point me to a working solution please?
